The art was created by local artists who drew inspiration from the region's three rivers and the brick masonry facade. Resulting pieces include abstract paintings, traditional landscapes and others in between.
The Convention Center itself is a work of art. The red brick, linear shapes, and metal canopies of the center relate to the existing city fabric, while its crisp forms, soaring spaces and expanses of clear glass set it apart as an exciting new addition. Elaborately landscaped and ideal for our year-round climate, the terraced garden area allows visitors to relax amongst magnolia trees, exotic plants, and custom gazebo.
Visitors move through expansive concourses and pre-function spaces, enjoying views to the garden, to Lincoln Street and up toward the State House. Daylight from the glass skylights and exterior walls enhance the rich interior color palette drawn from the community's historic and natural environment. The custom carpets of the facility are inspired by palmetto and river themes that further reinforce a strong sense of place.
